Movie Poster

Oh man, I was in love with this prompt! My friend Kelly did a Halloween photo shoot with my other friend Vivian and her man James. So I already knew I wanted to incorporate one of her photos. Here is Kelly's original image that she took.

Already a fantastic photo! Now I was envisioning this couple in a spook ballroom with him sitting on a platform that the king and queen usually sit on.

 This thing -

However, I quickly got discouraged by that idea because I could not figure out how to make the man in the image sit on the stage. Then, I moved to a few other ideas. And those all fell flat so quickly! Below are two of the other directions I attempted to go with.

I just was not finding the vibe I was envisioning for a spooky movie poster. Thankfully after a talk with Mr. Willams, I went back to trying to make my original vision come to life. I found a background that I found tasteful. That is shown below.

After finding a background that was nice and spooky I was good to start turning this into a movie poster! The roof was too busy and took the attention off of the couple so I moved the background up and added shading to the bottom. I extended the windows and took out the line across the widow also because it was taking attention away from the couple. I chose to add the chair with a sheet over for the spook effect and the cupid statue because they are lovers in this spooky tail

Mag Cover

     Mag Cover

Our assignment for Project 3 was to design a magazine cover for a publishing company. I decided to work for AI Magazine, where I was expected to create the cover art for a publication that explores and emphasizes the intersection of artificial intelligence and traditional design.

After reading the objective my brain immediately went to a human and AI robot arm-wrestling match. This is because most of my more "traditional" friends hate tech and my tech-savvy friends could not function independently of technology. So what better way to convey both side's strengths than seeing how they measure up against each other and then seeing how well they could work together.

Below are the Magazines I aimed to mimic.

I found mimicking the Type Faces to be difficult and spent a lot of time trying to get as close as possible also the simple lines proved to be a lot more work than intended to for this project I chose to stick to straight lines but I would love to perfect curving only small portions of my lines my mag cover for next months cover is below
